You know that feeling when a Wasp swarm eats half your magazine, then a Rocketeer starts lobbing rockets from a ridge you can barely see? That's July 2026 ARC Raiders. Damage and armor penetration matter more than cute gimmicks right now. Before you dump workshop parts into an old favorite, check which ARC Raiders BluePrints actually support the guns you plan to carry. Kettle can still work, sure. It just asks for more patience than most Expeditions give you.
Start With the Two Workhorses
Store Update 1.38.0 landed on July 21, while Expedition 4 came through Update 1.36.0. Together, they pushed players toward weapons that can stay useful after the easy targets are gone. Anvil is the safer first craft. It handles medium-to-long sightlines, keeps a controllable firing rhythm, and punches through medium and heavy ARC armor without turning every encounter into an ammo bill. Its improved durability also matters when an Expedition runs long.
- Build Anvil with Extended Barrel III, High-Capacity Magazine, and Stability Grip.
- Use light or medium ammo upgrades, then take the Aggression skill tree for movement.
- Bring Wolfpack Grenades when Bastions are on the route.
- Farm Trials Season 5 and high-value Expedition zones before spending materials on rarities.
Where Most Loadouts Fall Apart
On paper, one flexible rifle should cover everything. That's why players grab Anvil, point it at every target, and assume the job is done. Then Matriarch shows up, the ARC Turbine needs focused damage, and they keep spraying while their team burns through heavy ammo with nothing to show for it. Bettina is the correction. Recent patches raised its damage, tightened its dispersion, and added 33% armor damage. Run heavy ammo with Flanking Augment Mk3. At mid-range, fire controlled bursts into exposed joints instead of chasing body shots. In a boss group, let Bettina handle weak-point pressure while a Hullcracker keeps the target pinned and the lane clear.
Range Wins More Than Panic
Anvil and Bettina don't replace each other. Anvil clears Wasp and Hornet packs, pressures Rocketeers from cover, and stays comfortable when the fight keeps moving. Bettina has better single-target DPS once armor is the problem. Renegade is still the pick for players who want mobility and quick repositioning. Bobcat owns close quarters, no argument there. Hullcracker remains the specialist answer for bosses. Pick based on the route, not the damage number in the stash screen. Epic and Legendary Anvils lose less durability; a Legendary Bettina also cuts down the maintenance headache.
Test Without Donating Your Kit
Do Solo, Duo, and Trio queues change the answer? Not really-they just make testing less punishing because matchmaking is now separated. Start with three runs: Anvil for general Expedition pressure, Bettina for armored targets, then Hullcracker beside a teammate for boss work. If materials are short, grab cheap ARC Items for the missing pieces, then craft the weapon you'll actually use. Late-July Expedition conditions reward heavy firepower. Don't walk in carrying nostalgia.
